Colin May, of Baltimore, is a conservation writer and communications professional living in Portland, Oregon. By day, he writes about the pressing issues challenging our natural world, mostly from the comfort of his dining room. By night, he enjoys film and television, sometimes enough to write a review.
Colin earned a masters in environmental writing from the University of Montana in 2015. His graduate portfolio, WILD, adj. features essays, articles, and audio stories that grapple with society’s intersection with and corruption of things that may or may not be “wild.” He has written a number of other essays, a few of which have been published, and produced several audio stories for the Missoula-based podcast Last Best Stories. Colin founded and edited the first two issues of Beyond Beer, an art & lit magazine published by Imagine Nation Brewing Co. in Missoula, Montana.
He has worked as a communications specialist for the Crown of the Continent Research Learning Center at Glacier National Park, Imagine Nation Brewing Co. in Missoula, and The Nature Conservancy in Louisiana and Mississippi.
If he’s sitting, he prefers a hammock. If he’s walking, he’ll take a parade. Such things are documented on his Instagram. Inquiries about all of the above can be made to:
